Once workers are fitted with XSole PTI insoles and supervisors have an XS Manager account the alerts features can be used.

Alerts sent by wearers
There are 2 types of alerts that can be issued by XSole PTI insoles to supervisors : Loss of Verticality and Voluntary SOS.

Many settings are possible to adjust the triggering of alerts. Do not hesitate to contact us to discuss about requirements of your company and find the right configuration together.
Alerts sent by management
Top-down alerts are issued by supervisors to workers wearing XSole PTI insoles.
They are applicable to cases of site evacuation, containment, securing and team synchronization. They complement and/or replace existing systems (sirens, flashing lights) by offering a real-time monitoring of a whole site in case of an emergency.

Top-down alerts can be triggered from XS Manager using the evacuation button.
(These alerts can also be triggered from a third-party system such as a fire alarm or building evacuation system push button. Consult us for more details.)
For better efficiency, alerted insoles will localy relay the alert to other insoles (see this article for further details).
Notifications to supervisors/managers
When an alert is triggered, all supervisors in a group are notified simultaneously to save valuable time. (as soon as a supervisor takes over, the others are automatically informed that the situation is under control)

XS Manager Incident Management Panel
Geolocation of the incident
Geolocation is only available during alert.
The geolocation of the incident is provided in the form of a search area (red circle).
This zone is calculated by an algorithm embedded in the XSole PTI insoles.
Depending on the location of the incident and the quality of the data available (number of satellites, proximity of XSpot beacons, worker activity) the accuracy may vary.
This search area will refine over time and, if the wearer remains stationary, it will reach optimum accuracy for the circumstances of the incident within minutes.
The red dots displayed on the incident map are the position readings reported by the XSole PTI insoles. By clicking on them you get their timestamp and type:
- GPS: geolocation by satellite. Accuracy that can range from 1 meter outdoors (sky and open space) to several tens of meters indoors (with the presence of openings).
- Bluetooth: positioning by XSpot beacon (from a few meters to several tens of meters depending on configuration)
- Cellular: positioning using GSM antennas (no satellite or beacons). The precision of this type of positioning can be very variable because it depends on the distance from the GSM antennas but also and above all on their rate of use.
Managing alert with XS Manager
The XS Manager application (web or mobile) allows you to manage alerts yourself.
Taking charge of the alert
Once the alert supervisors/managers have been notified, one of them takes over the alert. To do this, he clicks on the "Take charge of the incident" button from XS Manager. At this moment, the other managers are notified that one of their colleagues has taken charge of the alert.
Checking of the alert
The worker wearing XSole PTI insoles has a pre-alert period which allows him to cancel false alerts by his own means. In addition, the supervisor/alert manager has several pieces of information to assess the situation:
- name and telephone number of the worker (if provided)
- geolocation
- activity of the wearer (moving or still based on step activity)
He can contact the wearer or local contacts using the geolocation information available.
It can also send a another series of vibrations (equivalent to pre-alert) to ensure that the wearer did not let this pre-alert pass.
Closing of the alert
When the alert ends, the supervisor/manager clicks on "Close incident" and can enter information about the context of the alert.
The other managers are notified of the closure of the alert.
History and tracking
The alert data will be kept for 60 days to meet the regulatory requirements of the labor code and insurance. In particular, the system must be tested regularly to ensure that it is working properly and that all team members (leaders and managers) remain operational.
